When kids sign up they can create their very own football avatar, play games, chat with other players, watch animated videos–all this in a kid-friendly and safe environment. That’s not all. There are quests and searches to find secret “stuff” including virtual pets called Gameballs which take a lot of care and training form their kid-owners.Oh, and did we mention the Pigskins–virtual cash kids can earn and spend on their fav NFL team jersey and other gear for their avatar. And if your kid hasn’t gotten enough virtual football, there are links to NFL programs, including flag football, game results, game previews and loads of fan info.

What moms need to know This virtual world is plainly aimed at younger kids. Signup requires a parent email address and the site send an email to parents giving them all their kid stuff like user name and password.

Randy Foster lives in a 110-year-old farm house in rural eastern North Carolina with his wife Sarah, who is a special education teacher. Between them, they have five sons ranging in age from 3 to 13, along with two dogs, a cat and a starling Sarah found after it fell out of its nest.
