wisenhimerWho says learning healthy habits can’t be fun?
The folks at WiseHealth launched an anti-obesity-themed kids world called Wisenhimer.

It’s aimed at the 5 to 12 year-old set and sets out to teach health eating and healthy living in a solid attempt to fight childhood obesity and Type II diabetes.

A site with a passionate mission created by parents, for parents
Linda Kreter, President and CEO of WiseHealth, says, “Like it or not, our children are in a full-scale battle where their health and their lives are at stake. As parents, we need to actively arm our children with valuable life lessons so they can flourish as adults. That’s why we created Wisenhimer.”

Playtime is learning time
Kids 5 thru 12 play games, take quizzes, and earn points while learning about healthy exercise, nutrition, and personal habits. Kids can create a personal character, take a cool cruise, visit different neighborhoods, or just hang out in their very own personal tree house.

Wait there’s lots more!

  • Online games provide for brief physical activities
  • There are suggestions for fitness offline
  • Weekly Wise Challenges teach health lessons (terrific for the whole family)

Today’s Reviewer is Elizabeth McCarthy
Elizabeth Selby McCarthy relishes life with her husband and their four children under age ten - and their laundry - in Raleigh, North Carolina.  When she’s not changing diapers or breastfeeding, she teaches college composition classes online, drives children to and from school, and plays short order cook for them.  Her writing has appeared in Raleigh-Durham-based publications Carolina Parent, The Independent Weekly, Urban Hiker, and The Spectator.  She fantasizes about having a clean house and really dislikes referring to herself in the third person.  If she had spare time, she’d read more books without pictures, but really, what fun would that be?

Coming up next we’ll be reviewing Mingoville a virtual world dedicated to teaching children in over 190 countries speak English!
