HarperCollins gives Lola Love a virtual world of her very own!
“Lola Love has proved herself to be a great role model for tween girls through our publishing programme, and it makes perfect sense to extend her life online, says Katie Fulford, Special Projects Director at HarperCollins. “With Lola’s Land we have produced a responsible site that combines the editorial content of traditional magazines with games and safe social networking, all with Lola’s underlying message of having fun and feeling good about yourself.”
What’s Cool About Lola’s Land
According to the publishers, Lola’s Land will be the first site aimed at girls in the tween bracket and the only site for tweens to combine editorial content, games, safe social networking, and a virtual world.
The Think Pink Manifesto
This virtual world is dedicated to reinforcing the ‘Think Pink’ Manifesto of the much loved and very feisty Lola character. Girls are encouraged to feel good about themselves, love who they are, feel confident, strong against unwanted peer pressure, and to think positively at all times.
Joining Lola’s Land
Tween girls become part of the world of fictional character, Lola Love by first creating an anonymous profile, creating an avatar, and hanging out in Lola’s Lounge or earning tons of Lola’s Bucks by playing games and participating in contests. And what do those Lola’s Bucks buy? Furnishings, decorations, and cool accessories.
