Meet our Team
Miriam Caldwell loves being a mom. She stays on top of the best and most fun things for kids to do both on and off the Internet. She believes that the most effective learning comes from the times that children are having fun. Miriam has been writing for parents for three years, and draws on her experiences from the time that she was a teacher as well as from her personal experience as a mom to three children.
Randy Foster lives in a 110-year-old farm house in rural eastern North Carolina with his wife Sarah, who is a special education teacher. Between them, they have five sons ranging in age from 3 to 13, along with two dogs, a cat and a starling Sarah found after it fell out of its nest. Randy has been a journalist for more than 20 years and has written one children’s book for his sons, using all of them as major characters. Randy has been a Marine, a private investigator, and a chainsaw repairman.

Meredith Gilley is the current Managing Editor for CIRCA Magazine, a home and lifestyle publication, contributing writer and columnist for The Rolesville Buzz, and owner of TheMerryWriter.com which provides custom content and editing solutions for print and the web. Meredith works from home and has two children, Alek, who is almost five and Amelia who recently turned two. Finding balance while working from home has often been a challenge and Meredith often finds herself wearing one of her daughter’s tiaras and holding her son’s transformer in one hand, while typing with the other, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Deb Golumbek is a full-time mother of two very active boys in elementary school. She is a freelance writer and editor and is a former parenting magazine managing editor. She has published numerous articles geared towards children’s health, educational issues, Internet safety and family fun. She has a background in teaching elementary school-aged children and considers the Internet a great tool that children need lots of supervision to use safely! She lives in Bel Air Maryland with her husband and children.

Cynthia Lechan-Goodman is a seasoned educator/counselor/writer/artist. She has a Master’s Degreee in Education and Counseling from Columbia, a B.S. in Elementary Education, and what she considers to be the highest levels of advanced education–marriage and being a mommy! Cynthia writes on parenting and families for publications including Mother and Daughter Bonding, Family Maker Magazine, DUO Miami, is a family entertainment Miami contributor to The Gather Group, has written and edited elementary school books for Scholastic, Inc., and taught and tutored from New York down the coast to Florida. For this project on the Internet she brings the grand appreciation of one who has used technology that began with typewriters to the fascination of cyberspace today.

Shannon Kietzmann is a teacher and happily married mother of four boys. As a teacher, she has had the privilege of working with students of all ages ranging from kindergarten through to adult learners. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Elementary Education. In addition, she has endorsements/minors in teaching students with emotional disabilities as well as in teaching computers and reading.
Elizabeth Selby McCarthy relishes life with her husband and their four children under age ten–and their laundry–in Raleigh, North Carolina. When she’s not changing diapers or breastfeeding, she teaches college composition classes online, drives children to and from school, and plays short order cook for them. Her writing appeared in Raleigh-Durham-based publications Carolina Parent, The Independent Weekly, Urban Hiker, and The Spectator. She fantasizes about having a clean house and really dislikes referring to herself in the third person. If she had spare time, she’d read more books without pictures, but really, what fun would that be?

Kevin Miller is a versatile writer who has applied his craft to books, films, articles, and web content. His credits include over 40 published books and hundreds of articles, profiles, and reviews. Kevin’s writing as been translated into French, Russian, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Hindi, and Swedish. As a father, Kevin is equally “prolific.” He and his wife Heidi have four children: Huw (8), Gretchen (6), Zeph (4), and Lark (11 months). When he’s not writing or spending time with his family, Kevin enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, camping, and otherwise exploring his world.

Nicole Milliner is a copywriter, wife and mother of two, living in San Francisco with her family. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in English: Creative Writing and has a background in Early Childhood Education. Her absolute favorite gaming site for children (so far, anyway) is a toss -up between PBSKids.org and SesameStreet.com.

Jeffrey Ober is a full-time freelance writer in Moorseville, North Carolina. He has over 20 years of experience working with computers and has been working with the Internet since it started. He also has almost 10 years of experience working with children and teaching. Laura Polk is a freelance writer who has contributed to Focus on the Family Magazine, Christian Parenting Today, and Gifted for Leadership. She has a passion for teaching women and children alike that God is in the details of family life. She is a wife and mother of three who blogs regularly on her website “Contemplations of a Crispy Mom” She is currently working on her first non-fiction book, Confessions of a Crispy Mom–One Mom’s Ally and a tween fiction book, They Call Me Roxie.

Kim Proulx is a Certified Parent Coach with a Masters in Counseling. She teaches parenting workshops and loves helping parents learn techniques that can make parenting easier and more fun. She’s also a writer who enjoys writing about parenting issues and how to have fun with a family. She’s quite proud of her E-Book called 101 Children’s Games and Activities and had great fun making up the games using simple household items. She also believes in the Facial Feedback Hypthesis idea that a simple smile can change a person’s mood. Try it the next time you or your child feel blue.

Erica Roth is a former reference librarian turned freelance copywriter, as well as the mom of two elementary school-age boys. She has more than 10 years of professional research experience from her librarian days at the College of Southern Maryland, where she taught students how to use and evaluate academic resources. She has written articles on a wide variety of topics, including health and fitness, business and finance, and games and recreation. In her spare time Erica enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, reading and music. Erica and her family live in Southern Maryland.

Sara Schmidt is a mom, activist (self-proclaimed “momtivist”), writer and graduate student from Missouri. The former editor of YouthNoise.com, Sara has also taught Romany children in Spain, debated across the Midwest through NEDA, and managed a restaurant. During her junior year as an undergraduate, Sara went into premature labor while on fall break–3,000 miles from home! With her miracle baby born at 25 weeks, she was then introduced to the many nuances of the “Preemie Underground.” Married to her high school sweetheart, Sara loves to explore the web, play with her three-year-old daughter, Sage, and write–all the time!

Jamie Lee Wallace brings a decade of professional interactive experience to the team at OneClickMoms. In addition to her years working as a project and product manager on a wide variety of Web-based projects–including custom social networks–she is also a professional mom blogger for Johnson & Johnson’s BabyCenter blog, MOMformation. A rabid social networking addict and mom to a precocious five-year-od daughter, Jamie is well positioned to provide knowledge and insightful commentary on the Web-based communities, games, and resources available to kids today.
